Sand tempest, a photo from Tagant, South

Photographer's Note

During long duration hiking (2 weeks) you have a high risk to face big desert wind like it was this day.
The strange magenta color of the sky is due to the dust of sand blowed in the air by the tempest.

Dans le desert, quand la duree du trek est importante, vous avez un grand risque d avoir affaire avec les tempetes de sable comme ce fut le cas ce jour la.
L etrange couleur du ciel, legerement magenta est due aux particules de sables brassees dans l air par le vent.

The ideal for the digital sensor !
I like this misty atmposphere, and the two sharp figures.
Alone in a hostile world.
Only the sunny sky makes it more confortable and safer.

Vow this looks like a painting! Great homogenous looking color distribution, and the two people stand our with their colors. Are they in front of the sand storm? TFS.

Aucun doute... je tepréfère dans ce style que dans celui de tes post précédent ;o)
La sensation de fin du monde ou plutôt de seul au monde est grandiose.
Aie... toutes ces particules de sables c'est ton 20d qui a du apprécier.

Comme sur tes précédentes j'aime beaucoup la couleur du ciel qui semble vouloir copier les dunes.

l'impression d'immensité est particulierement bien rendue ici, les deux personnes bien situées dans le champ accroche bien le regard, l'atmosphere de tempête est elle aussi bien rendue .

The soft blurriness of the sand in contrast to the sharp human figures and the strange colour of the sky convey the sensation of quite a hostile environment. I hope your Canon has good environmental seals!

The sense of vastness is nicely portrayed here. The graduated pastel colours from sky to sand are very lovely. Even the two people, judiciously placed, tonally blend nicely. Rgds, Leilani

Yves, this is an unusual one. I first thought it was soft but then on closer inspection it is a near perfect depiction of your title, great capture.
