Chinguetti's library Photo

Photographer’s Note

The town of Chinguetti was a former big town of islam and is well known for its very old arab books.
It is possible to visit some private library where can be found books from between Xeme and XIIeme century as the book here presented.

Photo taken with 1600iso setting and the higher aperture of the zoom to reach an acceptable time exposure duration.
I could correct the red tones of the photo, but it is mainly because of the colors of the sand and the walls, so I did not correct it artificially.

une note très interessante à l'égard d'une region qui n'a pas encore étée boulversée par le tourisme de masse!
un bon POV sur le livre...et les couleurs sont très chauds!

peut importe comment tu t'en ai sorti avec cette faible lumière,il reste une image très belle et qui invite à découvrire ces vieux parchemins.

C'est une belle image faite avec beaucoup de doigté.
J'aime bien ce beau rendu malgré les ISO élevés.

A en voir les images que tu as ramené j'imagine que ton vayage c'est bien passé.
Superbe focus sur le livre, ce qui donne une ambiance bien particulière. Un style différent, mais que tu semble également bien maitriser.

Hi Yves, i like the mood of this composition. The unsharp bg works very well to increase the attention at the scene of this wonderful old book in his own natural eviroment. At the west they would put gloves to read the book ;-))
