Photographer’s Note

Winding sea of sand

Travelling up the the ridge
Of Adrar mountain chain
The wind blows in a way
That we can’t notice if
the sun is really warm

Sand in the air
Twisted acacias
And sometimes
small rounded thatched huts
then bends and jerks
over a stony trail

Before the evening fall
We reached the Tifoujâr pass
And camped at the base of a canyon
Wind free, like Paradise

The morning after we climbed up the pass
To take vantage of the wide scenic view
Of the the gorge
At the base of a vast winding sea of sand.

Hi Luca, one of the most beautiful desert scenes I have ever seen in TE. The curves and the wild plants at the background create a fantastic atmosphere. I can even feel the heat of the weather. Thanks for sharing, Tolga

Oh, you know I like deserts. Very nice shot.
It's true that it often feels hotter in the car than it does outside in the sun with a bit of a breeze. But you get a tremendous sunburn in a few minutes... Thanks for sharing!

Hello Luca, I'm so glad to see all these wonderful shots you brought with you from your trip. Mauritania is very high on my list of places to go.
