Photographer’s Note

Desert is wide enough for praying as many times as you wish and wherever you wish. This was said many times in a better way than I. Here, from a muslim writer:

" Le désert est le jardin d'Allah: le dieu des justes y a enlevé toute vie humaine ou animale superflue, de façon à disposer d 'un lieu où il puisse cheminer en paix. Lounis Ait Menguellet."

I try a translation. I'll do my best:

" Desert is Allah's garden: the god of fairs suppressed all human or animal life that was useless, in order to get a place where he could trek with peace."

another masterpiece, Geraldine, you know how to compose these candid, but "rich" photos. I like the quote you've chosen, I might sumplement it with the saying that "desert and mountains are places were religions are born", I guess the sky and the universe feels closer. for some reason I've always liked deserts, I feel very comfortable there, and I still hope to able to visit all of them in this life :)
as to the photo - nothing much to say. it's very personal, but also very illustrative. great colours and details, but I particularly like yor point of view - the slightly elevated vanatge point creates an impression that the scene is seen throught the eyes of some deity floating above the ground. excellent shot.

A wonderful capture of an intimate moment in this desert - where there is nothing to distract the believer from Allah.
The colours are very true and there is good light and contrast. Careful composition creates a diagonal with the main elements of the men and the (very calm) camel. Excellent POV - from another camel I suppose.

J'aime beaucoup cette scène prise en plongée (je ne sais pas sur quoi tu étais perchée, mais c'est très réussi). Elle est certainement banale pour ces hommes du désert, habitués à s'arrêter plusieurs fois par jour pour prier leur Dieu, tout simplement, mais pour nous cette image a quelque chose de très exotique. Je trouve qu'ils ont vraiment confiance en leur chameau pour se placer ainsi juste derrière et aussi près... moi, j'aurais la trouille de me prendre un coup de patte dans la tête!
