Photographer’s Note
This crocodile is part of a pack of others idly sunbathing in a pond of the Banani village. They are free to roam around, but they are (apparently) harmless: they are constantly fed and well kept by the inhabitants of this beautiful Dogon village. Their belief is that crocodiles represent their actual ancestors.
