[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is from a village somewhere in central Mali, on a journey from the capital city Bamako to Mopti. I had hitched a ride with a couple of European development workers and we stopped here and there to look at the villages. Here, a little boy interrupted his game to stare in disbelief at the three white strangers suddenly coming towards him.
Scanned from a Kodachrome slide.

Interesting example of local architecture. Fine "daily life" photo full of exotics.
Regards.

Hej Gert,
A very different and exotic architecture. How high is this building? What´s on the flat roof?

Hej Gert.
Yes! they really are fairy tale houses, A small quest, do you know what in the top of the "tower" it looks like some of those things you have at the mast of a sailboat or actually reminds about "stadshuset" in stockholm.
good photo.

Gert, The shot is good technically though this long after the fact I suppose those kinds of comments are moot. I find it interesting that even in the abject poverty you have shown in the Mali shots that the people take the time and effort to build a house of worship diverting time and materials they could have used elsewhere.

Hello Gert,
a nice photo of a very interesting mosque which (due to some architectural peculiarities) reminds me of a mysterious object created by extra-terrestrials! :) the top of it really looks like the top of Stadshuset in Stockholm, but nevertheless the overall impression is "enigmatic" :)
I'm glad there was a boy playing near the mosque: thus we can see its real size..
regards,
Elena
