Photographer’s Note
My first day in Timbuktu was really hot (the Malians probably thought it was really cool, it was january) with strong sun. It is also extremely tiring to walk around in this city because almost all the streets are of sand. It feels like it takes ages just to go get lunch or buy some water.
Almost every day during my trip to Mali I was approached by kids who wanted to be photographed, here are two of them. Actually, all the brief meetings with small children who wanted to hold your hand for a few minutes or just look a little at you will be probably be one of the longest lasting memories of this country.
