Dancing in Malawi
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French] |
In this very small village in Malawi, we were welcome by children in a particular way : teenagers were quickly "dancing" a small choregraphy with feet and hands. They were not aggressive, but smiling.
If someone can give some explanation, thank you !...

Marie: a fine slice of newsprint journalism. Great details, and just enough action to turn this into a kinetic image. I've had trouble with distortion on this lens, but you've handled it well. regards, c

Hello Marie
I love your photos. I come from Malawi. The reason why the children were dancing is because they were happy to see you regardless of their poverty and sorrow. This is genuine happiness. Traditionally, Malawian's believe in welcoming their visitors because they believe that one day a person will be stranded and if they were good to the people around them, then they will return the kindness. That's why Malawi is called the Warm Heart of Africa. Happy faces amidst the sorrow and sadness.
Marie, can I use your photos please. Do I need to pay you some money - if so how much? Please let me know as soon as possible. My email address is lucy_edwarddouglas@yahoo.com.au
Thanks
Lucy
