Sunrise on Lake Malawi

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Women and children washing dishes near 'Hippo Cottage' near Mangochi. The villagers use the fact the reeds have been cleared in front of the cottage. They use the lake for washing themselves, water supply, dishwashing. The reeds are the natural habitat of tiny snails that form part of the life cycle of the worms that cause elephantiasis. The sand had a lot of snail shells in it. Another hazard of living in Malawi. |
