Toddlers at Open Arms Intants' Home

What a collection of facial expressions!
Most of the parents have died of AIDS, and many babies the Infants’ Home have HIV themselves. The orphanage takes babies and tries to resettle the children in their local community at 2 years old. (The problem in Malawi is, when the mother dies before the baby is weaned, baby formula is so expensive that the extended family is unable to buy it. So, Open Arms takes babies from birth, intending to return them to their community at two.) The babies are obviously well cared for and used to being picked up. The (paid) carers called themselves ‘Mothers’ and clearly love the babies.
Now, the Infants’ Home has toddlers with no extended family, so they are building a nursery and have recently employed a nursery teacher.

Hi Bob,
Excellent work. You're right- it is indeed a great collection of facial expressions! The photo is very well composed and the quality is good. The colours are quite striking here as well. Thanks for the great note too. Nice job!
