The Indri is the biggest of Madagascar's lemurs, and the only one with almost no tail. It has an eeire wailing song, and is seen in the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. (From Bradt Guide)
This was one of only four lemurs I saw during my three-month stay in Madagascar (three indries, one ring-tailed). This was in the rainforest of the Andasibe National Park, in the east of Madagascar. Luckily the charity I worked for had other volunteers working there, so we were able to visit them for a weekend.
Here is a closer photo of the Indri. |
