Photographer’s Note

It was late afternoon
when I returned from my walk
on the other side of the small island.
She was graciously sitting
outside her house
along the main path
and her father was with her.
I dare to approach her a little closer smiling
while handling my camera
she smiled too and
her pose was so natural
that I choose
not to ask for the shot
but to catch the moment and her natural pose.
Even if the light was already low,
I took three fast shots
trying to fix that nice moment and model.

Maria A. Strella

To be a child is to walk confident
along difficult and unknown ways
in the anxiety to unmask mysteries.
To a child is to enjoy playing, dream[s], the impossible.
A child knows nothing and is able to do everything.
To be a child is to hate clocks and compromises.
It is to have little patience and much haste.
And to be a child is also,
to be the adult whom has never forgot the child who was [once yourself].
