Photographer's Note

When I reach Evatra
I was delighted
by the quiet
of the place.
I cannot stop on the banks
for long as I planned
the loop walk until Lokaro bay
but I cannot get out of taking
a shot of this child fishing
on the wooden quay.
A peaceful image
of a simple and poor childhood
but isn't this the kind of place
we dream when we are at home
in our busy and polluted cities?

This is excellent. The boy is perfectly placed in the frame, the jetty forms a nice diagonal, the sky and the sea with its reflections are marvellous. The very best work.

it is very much a place I dream..
I like the boy playing alone and probably dreaming too :)..pile of clothes under his arm adds to its story..compo is good with left and right bottom objects framing the kid..I like the photo a lot :) thanks..

Hi Luca, The smile you just put on my face after opening this photo is the highlight of my week, truly. It's heart-warming, cute and funny how this little boy is inspecting his catch, equally his size. Such a beautiful image, with loads of sensibility. The composition is great including the tip of the canoe, the immense depth of the lake up to the mountains and than the hunch of the bridge this young man is standing on. I like how he got his jacket tucked under his arms. A very charming and wonderful image, thank you! Sabine

PS I thought it was also funny that your boy has some similarities with my boy last posted. Both of them are wearing green trousers and white shirt and they have the same long shadow as well - but yours is wandering around in a more uplifting environment as mine with that super background you captured.

Un altro bellissimo scatto Luca. Il bambino sul molo con la sua esca improvvisata di fronte al bellissimo panorama delle montagne in lontananza coronate da candide nuvole ne fanno un'immagine decisamente attraente.

Another charming, well composed scene from Madgascar, Luca. It's been a great series all the way. I like the proportions here, how you've made the little boy BIGGER somehow through your framing, how he dominates the landscape.

This is exquisite!
The composition is magnificent, the boy in the most perfect of places, the BG so clearly visible yet a strong and powerful presence right up at the front. The textures are marvelous and the colors simply *mmmh!* :D
The promise of future fishing is reinforced by the bark on the right.
Simply exquisite, I don't know what else to say! :D

Excellent point that you've made here!Simplicity.
We busy people living in cities, seek for a quiet place like this one to rest for their holidays.
I like the POV and DOF here.
I'd maybe cut the piece of palm tree in the upper right corner, but that's nothing important.

This is one of the best images on TE today. Everything so perfect about this. I just had to stop by and applaud. The boy seems like an interseting character. Wonder what he was doing with all those clothes under his arm.

Luca, this image is so quiet. Peaceful. And fragile.
Fragile as the blue colour is in the sky.
As a child, rich or poor, is.
As this pendulum, hanging in the air.
