Photographer’s Note
Ambositra is a charming Betsileo town in the highlands of Madagascar, with a population of about 60,000 and an uncountable number of beautiful wooden sculptures for sale. I lived there for two months (and loved it), and this is a random house I stumbled across while exploring my town's environs. It's a typical rural Malagasy house for the area.
The red earth is also typical of the Malagasy highlands, and is part of what makes the landscape so beautiful and unique.
