Photographer’s Note

The Isalo National Park in the South of Madagascar is situated in beautiful landscape, dominated by wildly eroded sandstone massif. The layers of sandstones are cut by deep canyons. The massif is surrounded by the grassy plains.

Hi Andrzej,
Excellent shot, well composed, showing good detail in the rock formations and the greenery in the foreground adds further interest. The colours are good and the image has fine clarity, and exposure. The photo works well for a couple of reasons. You have managed to keep the sky to 1/3 of the composition of the picture. This is something that many photographers don't do, leaving too much sky in the picture, but here you have composed it well. The detail in the rocks are good too. Perhaps there could have been a little contrast added to the picture, but it works well either way.
