FCE train
The FCE railway is a 163 km line connecting Fianarantsoa, the Betsileo capital, to Manakara, a Madagascan coastal city. Built between 1926 and 1936, it crosses one of the most beautiful landscapes of Madagascar on its descent from the high plateaus to the sea. It’s one of the sloppiest lines of the world, without toothed rack, with those of Ecuador and Burma. The outdatedness of the rails, of the power trolleys and of the coaches is impressive. This line is the only possibility to access at many villages. How long will this equipment still hold on?
This photo show interior of a 2nd class coach, reformed by the Swiss railways. It’s not still filled... The 1st class is not more luxurious but the places are reserved.

Hello Jean,
An excellent view into a third world countries transportation crisis if you can call it that. The image shows the country's economical situation through their people's dress and within the coach's interior with their belongings hung from the ceiling inside.
An excellent snapshot into the daily lifestyles of the Madagascarian's people...

Hello JeanPierre. Again an interesting photo. Is exemplary, like you this Moitiv sees and realizes, - down the travelers, above the baggage net. Together with the informative text really exemplary. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Salut Jean Pierre

Hi Jean-Pierre,
Quite different train shot. The wagon looks old, provides no luxuries but probably does the job. Interesting to see all the luggage above. I guess suct trips are not done every day there. And when one does there's a lot to take with. You as a tourist got a lot of attention, I see.

Hallo Jean Pierre!
A wonderful and interesting shot of daily life! The people are looking somehow distrustful and no one is smiling. I like the many details one can see here. A photo in the sense of TE!
Greetings from autumnal grey Germany!

Your exposure is spot on and high on detail with excellent sharpness.

Hello JeanPierre,
This is really travelling in the "third world": I haven't been to Madagascar but it all seems so familiar. A very good capture, fine colours, perfect sharpness and exposure and also a very informative picture.

Bonjour J-Pierre

Wow JP I like this one a lot. It's the look that you have from the passengers in the front that makes it so compelling. Plus the wider angle lets you tell the rest of the story of the train. Excellent shot JP!

Bonjour, Jean-Pierre,
Lighting from the under on the woman in the right side is interesting. It might be good to be motion blur in the windows.
I like this a little dark exposure.
Have a nice weekend.

A great light for this picture ! Very soft, no sharp shadows.
The colors are great too, and I particylarly like the green background, which fits very well with the orange, the other leading color of the picture.

Salut JP
