Maillol and his 2 CV Photo

Photographer’s Note

Maillol is the eldest son of the little family that hosted us in Manjakatompo at the foot of the Tsiafajavona.

On one of his few moments of play he and his brother were pushing toy cars on the dirt of the small courtyard of their smaller house.

Robinson, the younger brother had a plastic chinese made volkswagen Beetle, and Maillol a lovely wooden malgache made 2CV I immidiatly envied him for!

The photo is a little blurry, I tried to do some post-processing on it : fiddling with levels and sharpness, it seems to have improved things a little!

Hi Mathieu,This image conveys lot of feeling ,it may be a little unsharp, but the strong colours compensate for that.The boy really enjoys playing with his car.Thanks Tom.

Encore un point qui nous relie, avec ces superbes petites voitures en fer blanc qui d'une canette font un jouet "de luxe" pour les petits malgaches. une jolie leçon de "savoir vivre"... et une belle idée de photo.
Et puis nous avons je crois l'un et l'autre senti que ce pays était une mine d'images puissantes et belles.
on va forcément se rencontrer!
