Photographer’s Note
I was very fortunate to capture this shot as this little guy was sitting so still as though he knew I was desperate for a close shot.
He was taken in Lemurs' Park, located 22 km from the center of Antananarivo in Madagascar. I highly recommend a visit to this private reserve as there are at least 9 species of lemurs from all over Mada, including the smallest ones that look like baby rats!
Don't miss to catch the dancing lemurs on video during feeding time. These hilarious lemurs are not able to "walk" normally on ground, but they gallop sideways on 2 feet. It was extremely entertaining for me to watch such a movement for the first time with any animals.
It was mission impossible for me to see so many different species in other big national parks, where usually 1 or at most 2 species would hop by quickly, and only after walking for at least 30 to 90 minutes. Thus, don't miss the Lemurs Park in Tana before you leave. They have also a restaurant serving a simple & tasty set menu, and you should order lunch before visiting the park.
