Day VI

One of the most astonishing sensations in the desert is to walk in the middle of nowhere. Hours, with no mark...
Here, for exemple, we walk something like 1h30 in this endless erg, behind the guide, to reach these dunes... Vertiginous and magic !

I wish to all my friends here, on TE, a very happy new year 2006. I thank the whole community for the time we spend together, for all that we share and I wish to all of you to find...

Unreal this landscape , great colors.An added advantage is this people in the picture giving the photo more life, a new perspective.

TRès belle image. On a envie de ke suivre cet homme qui marche, même pour aller nulle part.
Je trouve que le cadrage est excellent. Il ne fallait surtout pas le centrer.

Très joli cadrage Stéphane. J'aime beaucoup cette compo où on se demande ou va cet homme... Il faut en avoir du courage. N'empêche que l'endroit est magnifique et ta photo lui rend bien hommage

Vici une tres belle photo (elle fait penser a "Lawrence of Arabia", tu sais...) Couleurs splendides, et super cadrage. Ma seule reserve concernerait le pique sur l'homme a gauche...encire un tout petit peu et ce serait parfait.

Another amazing shot on this great tour of the desert. The vast empty spaces are indeed daunting. I like the DOF here, the varying hues and tones, and the ambience created by the guide, well equipped for his task. Happy New Year, Stephane, and good shooting in 2006.

la compo décentrée fonctionne très bien, on a l'impression que cet homme ère seul avec ses pensées.
Il semble se diriger nulle part, sans but précis.
Belle lumière et ... belle note !

What a barren place this seems to be. A good job you had the guide with you - it seems a place you could get lost in.The three colours of the sky,sand and ground really work well together and
the guide placed as he is gives scale and depth to the shot.

Bonsoir Stephane qui rejoue la scène de Lawrence d'Arabie ou plutôt en Lybie cette-fois ci.
Le terme de nulle part est à la mode en cemoment, je l'attribue donc à ce bédouin qui va nulle part.
Ou la chanson des Beatles "Nowhere man !"
Excellente composition.

Stephane, I have to admit that your photo is very close the path I'd like to walk myself. I've just came back from Tunisia where I was partly thinking of visiting Libya too, especially after seeing your wonderful gallery.

Le sentiment de marcher seul dans le désert est bien réell.
La compo est magnifique, c'est plat, c'est long, il y un effet de mirage.

une scène qu'on aurait pu placer dans pas mal de films, la traversée du désert.
Des distances trompeuses, l'impression que ke but est proche....et les mirages.

Très belles couleurs, douces et rosées des dunes.

Une vue un peu dépaysante.

Another very successful shot of the desert with the very interesting colours and textures. You have portrayed the vastness of the place well and the fact that there are not paths or indicators is simply amazing. Even the shape of the dunes are unpredictable. Excellent shot!! All the best.

What a fascinating place, Stephane, to walk for hours through the same unchanging scenery. It's difficult to comprehend the vastness of the desert but I guess this is one of the best ways to do it. Nice composition with the guide in the corner of the frame and heading unwaveringly towards those distant dunes.

Salut Stéphane,
Un petit tour sur ta galerie lybienne ce matin, car ma fille s'y trouve en ce moment... donc cela m'intéresse particulièrement! Plein de magnifiques photos du désert. J'ai un petit faible pour celle-ci sans doute parce qu'elle met en scène l'homme dans cette nature étrange et aussi belle qu'incontrolable et parfois hostile. Je trouve merveilleux qu'il y ait encore des endroits où l'on se diriges avec des points de repères éternels (une colline, des étoiles...) à l'heure où je vois de + en + de gens qui ne peuvent + vivre sans GPS!
Par ailleurs c'est une très belle compo avec ces 2 plans horizontaux différents dans le relief et dans la couleur et cet homme droit comme un i que tu as très bien placé en le décentrant.
