Photographer’s Note
Day II
Before leaving to the desert, you figure it out, you desire it. It's quite easy (especially if you've been there before) :
> perfect dunes looking like the skin of a laying body...
> camels riding in the middle of nowhere...
> impropable lights...
> loneliness and silence...
Then you arrive and it's here, in front of you. And you discover the icons are real !

Stephane
Been to Libya myself but not this far into the desert. Nice light. Morning or late afternoon? The camel off center adds a nice touch to the composition. Lovely copper colouring. This is wonderful stuff!

Nice shot with the smooth sand, colours and light are very nice and the camel is the perfect detail. I only would crop a lot of sky...

Admiration !
Amitiés.

Hi Stephane,
Desert is my favourite kind of landscape and this picture is no exception. Nice composition with the dromedary in the foreground and the huge dunes in the background. The warm colours against the blue sky are superb. Well done!

Good photo Stephane, but to me is so equal! The ground the dunes and the camel to me are the same colors!
I think a more blue sky will made a better contrast.
Have you ride a camel? it's look funny!
I made a work shop about the sky.

Bonjour Stéphane,
Indeed a real desert picture and a very beautiful one too. I like the wonderful warm colours and the great shapes of the dunes. The quite low POV is also well chosen, good work!

This is a wonderful image with the strong light/shade contrasts. The camel is well-placed compositionally. I didn't think it could be improved but the WS is first rate.

Hi Stephane,
As per your note, you seem to have captured the quintessential shot of the desert. I love the tones and hues here, as well as the texture of the dunes. The camel looks to be a youngster and rather curious. Great shadow effects on the dunes. This is first rate. A real keeper.

Hi Stephane,
After switching sometimes with the WS I think I prefer the original. The contrast between the blue of the sky and the sand is more beautiful, but I like the mysterious mood of this one too.

Hello Stephane,
Bien vu

Hi Stephane,
The desert is always an interesting place to see as it shows the true form of mother earth. I like the good and well placed shadows that you are able to show here. They create interesting movement. The camel helped to emphasized the mood and atmosphere. Great shot!! Regards.

Hi Stéphane, An amazing capture of the same colored ground, mountain, and the camel. It is interesting to see the shadow by the sunlight. Nice contrast against the sky. A well taken picture.

Hi Stephane, somehow I had missed this desert pic when you first posted it. It is of course a classic view of the two most iconic images of the desert. The light on the dunes is fabulous - it's at just the right angle to really show the ripples of the sand.

Bon weekend,
Emma

Beautiful colours especially the camel and the dunes almost the same colour and the dunes are so lovely like lovingly carressed by the wind into that shape.
