Photographer’s Note

Let me introduce Sidi. He was taking care of the camels during our hiking in the libyan desert around Ghat. But he was also doing activities after sunset, playing music and singing around the fire. A great remembering.
This photo was done following the 'cooking recipe' of Inasiajones a master for travel portrait.

Laissez moi vous presenter Sidi, notre chamelier qui le jour s occupait des dromadaires et le soir prenait en charge une grande partie des animations autour du feu: theatre, musique, chant etc... Derriere ce cheche se trouve une personne vraiment interessante qui nous fit decouvrir une partie de la richesse de ce pays.
Cette photo a ete prise en suivant la methode Inasiajones qui marche bien :-)

Bonjour Yves ,
Bien sûr , Sidi prend la pose . Mais le portrait est magnifique tant la lumière et les couleurs sont belles . Superbe cadrage également .
Un bel hommage à ce travailleur du desert , comme tu dis .

Hi Yves,
Great portrait! There is good lighting in this photo and I like the focus on Sidi, while the dunes in the background are slightly out of focus...it really adds something to this shot.
Nice sharpness, colours and framing.

Hi Yves,

Sidi is very self-consciously posing for the picture, yet the picture has a natural feel to it. Great colours in this shot of man in his working environment.

très chouette ce portrait. La combinaison des couleurs du sable et de ses vêtements est superbe dans cette lumière. Le ciel aussi était avec toi, j'aime bien ces nuages ondulants...Bon la pose on aime ou pas mais c'est un beau portrait tout de même...

Superb shot. One of the best I've seen on TE in a long time. Some may find the pose and the scene a bit contrived but to me, it has the vintage NG quality of the magazine's early decades. Regards,

Hello Yves,

Wonderful shot!
Your subject literally dominates the frame with his proud pose and his eye-catching attire. A pin-sharp focus brings out all the details of pattern, texture and colour.
I like how the b/g gradually blurs whilst the light emphasises its hills and hollows.
The pov is low enough for the subject's head to be framed against the sky. I feel it would have had less impact if shown against the sand dune.

waow ces couleurs c'est magnifique, même si chamelier pose il y a une parfaite harmonie entre les differents tons d'orange et le bleu du ciel. la bonne lumiere n'est pas étrangère a cette superbe réalisation.

Voilà un super beau portrait dans un décor magnifique. L'utilisation du filtre polarisant à surement été un choix judicieux car le ciel est tout simplement parfait. Excellente composition, pose dynamique, couleurs impeccables... bravo!

La profondeur de champs permet de centrer l'attention sur cet homme, qui pose fièrement, tout en profitant quand même du superbe arrière-plan.

hello Yves,
really great portrait, it even looks staged with the colours of his robe matching the golden tone of the desert dunes. the soft background works really well to illustrate the home of this man, but is enough out of focus to remain unobtrusive. superb work, my compliments.

La qualite de ta photo est impressionnante. La lumiere et l'exposition sont tres bien gerees, douces, nous pourrions penser a un eclairage de cinema...
La posture de cet homme est tres belle, la couleur de son habit se detache bien du sable bien que dans les meme tons, les ombres des autres dunes donnent de la dimension a l'image.
Pour moi, une des plus belles compositions de ce que j'ai vu sur TE.
