Photographer’s Note
a small homage to our guide touareg Amadou, which made known to us his country apart from the beaten paths, and instead of making day of 15 with 20km indicator which we were not beginners to be counted on 25 with 30km per day, a true pleasure here you see all the power of the 10M pixels look at the WS and you will include/understand.

Salut Gilbert,

Emma

Hi Gilbert. When I first saw this I was going to tell you what a great composition it was, but then comment on the noise and contrast. But then I read your note and looked at the workshop and saw how you had cropped this - so in the circumstances the technical shortcomings are quite forgiveable. This is certainly a great demonstration of what you can do with 10 megapixels. I am saving my money to upgrade to a D200! Cheers . . . David

Hi Gilbert,
Lack of contrast was the first thing what came up to me. After reading the note i understand why. The D200 is an very good camera, and with 10M you came make the most beautifull crops, what we can see here. The pole in the sand, his hand over his knee, it all works out te be very good.
Really nice, and thanks for the note.
Regards, Henk

this is a great shot of a man who has spent his life in the desert. his tanned skin, brown and leather textured shows he is almost at one with the sand he holds in his hand. nice to see his tradional adidas jacket, native to his lands!! :)

Salut Gilbert,
Bien vu.

Gilbert, I am bit jealous to see this photo as I wanted to be in Libya myself, well some other time. You've captured great desert scene here with local guide and beautiful background. well done. L.

Salut Gilbert,

Very effective, Gilbert.
stunning backdrop and nice character study of the figure. Capturing the sand falling through his fingers like that was a master stroke.
Great work

He is looking hardworking man. His expressions tells he knows inches of this area. He is posing very well and showing his country's soil as the attraction and its worth.
Good POV. Great background. Excellent composition.

Bonjour Gilbert,
Wonderful shots from the desert in Lybia. Impressive powerful close-up of your guide. I like his pose and the gesture that he is doing with the sand. The background is quite attractive and very well done with the original in ws, to give us some perspective of the place and the crop that you have done.
Merci,
Amitiés,

This has a lot of potential! If only he wasn't squinting so much and the image were a little sharper overall. But a great crop from the original, it's nice to pull him out and put him in these surroundings where he so naturally fits. Of course now, having seen the original, I see a foot on the left, perhaps this could be cloned out? Must have been an amazing experience!
