| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A shot of the Waterside Market in Monrovia. This market is full of people and chaotic. People scurry to get out of the way as cars drive through.
Liberia has a high unemployment rate. I heard yesterday that it was 80%. In addition to the people selling items there are many others there who know someone in the market or just looking for something to do. |

Well, it is good to see at least life is getting sort of back to normal
80% unemployment, that is unbeleiveable
Lets pray that changes for the better soon as well
As to the picture, excellent shot. I would like to see some of the items that are being sold as well. Do you have any pictures of the stalls from a different angle
Cheers
Greg
80% ..that is a lot :(
Nice scene from daily life you captured with vivid colors. Good clarity ...
It's prety crowded in the romanian open markets also, but not that colorfull ...
Your love for Liberia radiates through all the portraits sometimes a bit too posed but that will improve by mainting talking in to people while you shoot.
Here I like the shot for the lively atmosphere of the market, always a most pleasant place to see people in action and interaction. Quality is excellent in fine details, lot to see here.
Keep it on Michael takes along deeper in to the essence and the beauty of this culture.
greetings
Henk

A picture full of life. Yet so much poverty.
What a world... :-(
