Photographer’s Note
Several villagers in the school damaged by rebel forces.
This is a small village upcountry in Libera. Liberia does not have the resources to fix schools and send teachers to all the small villages affected like this one. It may be years before a school functions in this village again.

Hello Michael,
What a poor life in lot of countries. Plus wars, rebels… Who will pay for this ? I hope they started already again. Many thanks for sharing.
Best Regards,
Parbo
PS: Your pictures from Liberia smell same as here Suriname. This is the one other evidence that they were neighbor before the continents break off.

I just read your bio, and found out you're a RPCV. I am too (Suriname ´98-´00). I can only imagine that your visits to Liberia have been really difficult and I'm impressed at your photos. It is sad to see things like schools, something so important to a society, completely destroyed. Thanks for your efforts to teach us about Liberia.
Kate
