[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After a difficult journey I reached Tapeta, where I had lived 30 years ago. The town was destroyed during the civil war. It rained off and on as I looked around the middle of town. This section of the village had a number of thriving stores, it was the downtown. Now vegetation has taken over and the stores will need to be rebuilt to be used again.

I took this photo of some older children as they were walking through town. They probably have minimal education as the schools were destoyed and teachers hadn't been paid in years. There are few opportunities this far upcountry. Even farming is difficult.

I watched a TV show about Liberia the other night, mostly about Charles Taylor. This photo has astounding colours and very handsome people who can still find something to smile about. I really like this picture and will put it in my favourites. Thanks for the notes, too.

These young people seem to belong here, despite their difficult lives.
This is a lively picture, Michael. I see hope in their eyes.
BTW, are those streaks across their faces rain drops? Just curious!

Great comp and dof. Very nice capture of daily life. Good work.
