[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Lesotho, a small mountainous country surrounded by South Africa is 2874m above sea level. This hut a few miles from the Sani Pass is typical of those in this small spread out community. The landscape here is bleak and barren; and people, the children in particular, welcome visitors and the sweets they generally bring with them. Inside the thick walls the space is well organised and warm, no windows. Light comes through the open door, as do the chickens. A small hole in the mud floor is an oven from which delicious food, including bread, is produced. The family cat sits almost on top of the oven for warmth. The lady of the hut sells small commodities, including a home made brew and telephone book cigarette paper to passers by and neighbours. More about clothes etc. with a future photo.
Another photograph from Lesotho is here.

Very nice Doreen and the photo provides a nice illustration for your informative notes.
I like how the photo gives an impresion of life in a remote place, also the sense that whilst there's sun the man wrapping himself in a blanket shows it can be cold at the altitude presuming it's morning or evening. I think a crop at the left could be quite beneficial if not essential. Ian

Both the photo and the note are very interesting, Doreen. Well done. I especially like the brickwork of the hut and the variety of colour.
