This is the view from the top of the Drakensberg, looking down on Sani Pass, a mountain pass into the country of Lesotho from South Africa. I like this picture because it captures the vertigo and uneasy feeling of standing on the edge of a high cliff. The wind was blowing very strongly from behind me when i took this shot which made it all the more hairy! haha. That is a landrover driving up the pass on the top bend. It gives a good idea of the scale of this area..huge!

Is that a car going up on the right? Nice winding road, this shot captures Africa's scenic immensity.

Hi Paul
This is beauty in barrenness…the winding road has a very graphic effect on this almost monochromatic image…the car labouring it’s way up the road provides an idea of the scale. What are the whites we can see in patches?

Angshu

Hi Paul. You are correct I am hanging onto my desk just looking at this shot. The side light has given the far mountainside texture and I think this has added some depth to the shot. Well captured and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Emilius

It hurts my stomach to look here.... scary!!!!

Hi Paul,
I have put this col on my list. It sure looks impressive. The shadows and the good definition of the barren rocks provide an excellent depth.
