Photographer’s Note

Here is a typical scene for the village of Ha Nohana: A Lesotho Flying Doctor Service (LFDS) Cessna 206 dropping off a doctor, who will get in the Partners in Health (PIH) Rover so that she can help the remote people of the Drakensburg mountains. Medicine is unloaded from the plane, and a few passengers who were coming back to Nohana from Maseru walk up the hill to the village.

The LFDS is instrumental in providing medical care for the villages of Lesotho. Supplies and doctors are flown into the mountains, and critical patients are flown to the capital city, Maseru, where they can receive medical attention. I was in Lesotho with the LFDS as part of my course work in my Missionary Aviation degree at LeTourneau University.
