Photographer’s Note
This boy was riding his donkey home for the evening, but he couldn't pass up a picture. The Basotho people are very friendly and open, especially in the mountain villages. I was in Lesotho as part of my aviation schooling. I was observing the operations of the Lesotho Flying Doctor Service, which flies to remote airstrips in the mountains. They cater to a wide variety of patients, but they are especially active in helping AIDS/HIV patients, because the AIDS rate in Lesotho is over 40%.

donkey riding was pretty common at the beginning of last century...so...it's a nice blast from the past
moreover I love the bright and natural smile of this boy...not just a commercial smile for the silly tourist...but a warm "welcome smile"

PS: captured something similar in Morocco....

Hi Daniel!
Not even having a saddle!
What an indifferent world we live in!
But at least the smile is there!
Good moment and really nice smile!
The donkey is really cute, TFS,
Regards,
Thomas
