Sure, Kilimanjaro is way higher than this, but that's one mountain. Eastern Lesotho is almost entirely located at more than 2000 masl. I was driving up and down mountain passes all day before I ended up at Sani Pass, the famous gateway to Lesotho.
You might wonder what that white line down there is doing in Africa. That's Afriski, one of only two ski resorts in southern Africa! It's open from June to August and seemed to be a popular destination. Although the winters are dry, it's cold enough for the snow machines to run, especially during the night. The temperature when I was there was 6 degrees. In the bottom of the hill you could find lodges named after ski destinations in Europe like Chamonix or St. Moritz. There is also a sign letting you know you are eating at the highest altitude restaurant in the entire Africa!
I also suspect this mountain pass seen to the right, Mahlasela Pass, to be the highest in southern Africa. It is common to say Tlaeng Pass 30 minutes south of this is the highest at 3251 masl, but Google Earth says this one is about 20 meters higher. I also remember the sign saying "Mahlasela Pass, 3222 m" was not located exactly at the top, so Google may be right.
If so, this is actually the highest altitude I have ever been to! Of course I had to make it just a little bit higher, so I stopped the car and ran up to this hill. For the first time I could also feel how it's more exhausting to run in that altitude. But the view was all worth it.

This is an interesting photo, you don't normally think about ski resorts in Africa. Your composition is nice using the curving road to lead the eye through the shot. The white ski run creates a nice diagonal through the scene. The lighting is fine as is the photo's sharpness.
The close up rocks create depth for the shot.

Great panorama of this attractive but barren landscape.
Wonderful light and colors.
