Photographer’s Note
I just come back from an unforgettable trip to Kenya.
This scene was taken at sunset in Amboseli, one of the southern Kenya park where one can see the Kilimanjaro in the background adding a supernatural atmosphere to the Nature wonders we see around. Here, we passed by a small group of elephants nearby a dustcloud creating a nice effect agains the sun.
I never thought that it was possible to see so many animals in the same place and it made my previous Safari in Northern Cameroun a funny remembrance.
The country itself was incredible with its kind people, extremely various places. We felt very close from the people we met.
It happened that we where there during the Presidential elections. We where told that massive frauds where about to happen in a country which where driving toward Democracy. I just read that after the former President Kibaki was elected again, 18 people where killed in various demonstrations around Nairobi. The United States just congratulated the President while the European Union just issued doubts about the veracity of the result. I just hope this is not a new country going backward in the Democracy path.

Bonjour Steven,
Bon reveillon,
Yves.

Hi Steven.
Been to Kenya twice and would go again every year. I love the place and your photo shows the scene perfectly.
If I have one (minor) criticism it is that the frame is a bit 'heavy'. It attracts a little too much attention and uses pixels that could otherwise be used to enlarge the photo.
Anyway, superb image. Best wishes for 2008. Kind regards, Paul.

A golden atmpsphere. The scene and the light are both very beautiful. I love the fact that only one color, with all its tones, is used.
