Photographer’s Note

While on safari in the Tsavo East National Park, just outside Voi in Kenya, we happened across this bull elephant, female and chile eating right beside the road (I may have been using my 55-200mm lens, but there was no need at all to zoom in!).

I managed to get some amazing shots of the three of them casually grazing, but, after a while, the male realised that we didn't appear to be moving away.

He decided that he wanted them to enjoy the rest of their meal in private and soon made it obvious that he didn't want us around. Along with the huffing and puffing and snorting, his ears started to flap and rise up quite menacingly.

It was at that point that I decided that I didn't actually need any more photographs and asked the driver to move on, please!!
