Photographer's Note
Another shot in the series I took on Galu Beach, Kenya. The endlessly changing light and stark beauty of the dead trees became a constant source of inspiration.

Nice, a new shot of this place. This time with a grey sky giving good contrast versus the beach.
Good composition with wide angle lens to totally include the dead tree and to give depth to the view.

Hello Rosemary,
magnificent picture with excellent lighting and sharpness which make the tectures very real and tangible. The point of view is terrific, it gives a marvellous sense of depth, places a great part of the dead tree against the luminous grey sky and allows us to see the lovely effect of the soft shadow. The colours are exquisite. Congratulations!
All the best,
Ourania

Hi Rosemary,
il POV da te scelto per fotografare quest'albero morto è davvero ben scelto.
Con un pò di fantasia, sembra di vedere un piccolo aereo :))
Luce ben gestita e ottima nitidezza.
TFS!

Hi again,
You really do have quite a few really great shots with this tree trunk, mostly maybe because of the special light from with the gray sky, creating a very good contrast and the tree is really a nice subject from any different angles. Excellent shot.

Bonjour Rosemary
J'aime beaucoup le point de vue au ras du sol qui donne une belle ampleur à cette branche morte qui profite de la plage pour passer ses derniers jours.

Nature can also be a great artist and here you show as good example. A beautiful "sculpture" and a well seen picture!

Hi my dear Rosemary
Sorry for my late reply, as I am still sufferring from a light pneumonia, getting well very slowly.
Another great impressive nature/secnery shot as your own originalit yand taste! Wonderful widefocus appraoch, that is my favorite one. Far deep exposure focusing is marvelous, contribure clear and sharp image like this. Perfect tight framework and well considered composition as usual! Hi Rosemary!
These dead trees on the beach are really impressive. Somehow, the place seems almost unreal with them there. I like this pov and the light was very good also! I see you had some sun light, but the dark sky is fantastic!

Hello Rosemary,
I really can appreciate the attraction that this created for you. From different angles and with different lighting conditions, this weather worn branch could take on any number of forms. Are we being anthropomorphic by saying it appears to be surrendering!. Head bowed and arms erect, that's the impression it gives!.
A wondeful low pov (were there others about to observe you?) which gives this stick its character and sets it dynamically against the sky. The clouds may even have been in your favour to assist in the atmosphere.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello Rosemary
Your low POV & the perspective you created standing close to the dead wood with your wide lens, creates a visually stunning picture. Superb colour contrast between the grey sky & the pink sand, separated by the turquoise sea. Had it not been for the colours, I would be tempted to 'translate' this to B&W. IMHO, the decadence would be starker in that medium.
Fine work!
Best Regards
Angshu
PS : Took the liberty of doing a workshop, trying an alternative of your excellent picture. Hope you wouldn't mind!

Artistica , naturale, ed allo stesso concettuale.
Interpretazione artistica delle "tua" Namibia.
Ottimi colori in un contesto quasi irreale.

Hi Rosemary
I really like the palette of colors present in this image. The seemingly fine white sand (are they?) against the grey sky with a bit of blue tones are nice, relaxing to the eyes. The perspective and POV are well chosen. Love the result!
warm regards,
Matt
