Photographer's Note
Arriving in Mombasa after a decidedly dusty and bumpy journey from Tsavo East, it was with pleasure that I stepped out onto the patio of our Mombasa accommodation. The views across to Mombasa Island and the Nyali Bridge were excellent, the day bed a perfect place to relax.

Wow Rosemary, This is gorgeous, love your Pov, the close up of the chair and curtain makes this very attractive and like a oil painting. Super Dof, allowing us a glimpse of a splendid view. Well done, Cheers Iain.

Hello Rosemary,
How utterly decadent to have a bed on your patio! But how amazing to lie in bed with a good book and a glass of vino and admire this view. Or even take some shots of the vista whilst reclining in bed!
This picture has absolutely amazing depth of focus - from the bedpost just a couple of feet away, all the way to the horizon. Lovely lighting too and I'm amazed that you didn't have deep shadows in the shade of the curtain on the right. Superb colours and amazing detail and sharpness throughout.
Gorgeous!
Kind Regards,
John.

Bonjour Rosemary
Une accommodation a nulle autre pareil. On a presque pas envie de dormir avec une vue semblable.Le pot de fleurs au pied du lit ajoute une belle touche de couleurs.

Hello Rosemary, some how this shot oozes opulence and a touch of old world colonialism to me,must be something to do with day beds, draped curtains and potted plants..
A simple shot with bags of atmosphere.
Best wishes Les.

hi rosemary,
this is an amazing picture, but i'm not sure why. i think everything combine superbly to create a lovely image. your viewpoint has produced an intreging perspective, i think it is because you have been able to include the interior of the room as well as the view beyond, with both in perfect sharpness and perfectly exposed. the little areas of green vegetation contrast beautifully with the whites of the bed, walls and curtains. the positioning of the plant with its rich pink colours is amazing. fantastic picture, and a cracking place to enjoy the view.

Hi dear Rosemary
What a unique photo, superbly composed and beautifully detailed. 'After such a long trip and with such a great view, I wouldn't move from that daybed either, except maybe to go and get myself a cold beer. Excellent depth, and lovely details.
Congratulations, thanks for sharing

Bonjour Rosemary,

Mes compliments.

Rosemary
Further to your comments elsewhere ( thanks for visiting ! ) I have posted my WS.
Mostly my notes here would only repeat those there,so - love it, wish it was me reclining there, and step forward next time ! Maybe actually the solution in this case would be a pair of killer heels.. a bit more elevation might give the effect my WS aims for...
kind regards

Looking to this view, I have to feeling to be back in the movie 'Out of Africa'. If I am not wrong this story was also spending in Kenya.
Interesting composition opposition foreground and background, separated by the sea.

Hi Rosemary,
It is a beautiful photo and most of all such romantic setting, the bed in the outdoor, the pink flower of bulgandia, the palm trees, teh sunset light, tropical breeze...ah. I would have never thought of take it with a POV including part of the bed. I would have just go for the landscape only. I guess that is how we learn to see thing form other's perspective.
Beautiful photo with good DoF, all is sharpe from the foreground to the landscape in the distance.
