Photographer’s Note
Right after a huge feast the lioness scattered away and gave their places to the lions...
Some of them headed for a rest others stayed close to the "crime scene" and kept an eye on the surrounding area, watching for Hyaenas...

amazing shot, i always wonder how it's possible to get such close-up's, i mean, u MUST have used an enormous tele-lens or you where dangerously close.
The DOF comes out great, too, it gives us a sense of distance in the pic... this is wildlife!
a little critique: i think the photo looks more natural if it wheren't as sharp as it is now, i think it too sharp.
anyway, thumb's up for sharing this great shot

Muito boa foto, a luz está ideal, o animal está em uma pose ótima "pose". grande foto.

That's a very nice looking big cat... I like it that you chose to capture a little more of the "whole picture" and didn't zoom in only on the cat. She looks so relaxed... beautiful!

Nice shot of the cat. Wish she had her eyes open, but neat shot all the same. I like her teeth. Something I would definitely stay away from :-)

Hi Panos
You caught her well, wish I had a 500 mm Nikor. This is a flat cat, as we term them - she is going to be flat for at least a couple of hours, and you can shoot and wait, but mostly her eyes will be closed and she will flop down and snooze away. No action coming from her for some time. By the way, you can get up to 1 m away from these cats in the wild - just respect them and do not intrude, and you will ne ignored - this for Remko.

Nice photo Panos. Well composed and nicely framed shot. Good shallow DOF brings out the lion from its surrounding. Shame we don' have eye contact, but i guess some things in life are out of our control. Tell me did you experience any problems with camera shake when shooting at the 500mm focal distance?

Hi Panos,
this is a very nice tele wild animal watching photo. Excellent D O V. Thanks to fine manipulating of shutter's speed, holding this lens, you managed to have this result.
Thank you for sharing, best wishes,
Athanasios.
