Photographer’s Note

Although the highest pick of Africa, Kilimanjaro Mount (5895m) is situated in Tanzania, it's very well visible from Kenyan North eastern part.... Well, this is when the wind is kind enough to chase the clouds away. :))

Well done, this is a fantastic image of the Tanzanian landscape, with very good lighting. The golden tones of the grassy plain against the darkness of the trees has created a very intersting photo. You were lucky to get the mountain without the usual clouds.

Undeniably well composed and exciting portrayal of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It looks sooo awesome from that distance, also your layering with the colors (sky, mountain, clouds and vast plains, trees, yellow grass and tiny animals) creates a joy for the eye. Excellent share! Congrats,

Hello Irina,

Another jewel!!! I was just waiting, craving for one. The baobab picture with its intense feel, the dust.. The elephants!!! The rainbow-coloured sunset had me really craving for more. MORE!! And now, now you finally come with another little gem that stands out, stands out for miles.

Wouldn't want to call it a postcard, that sounds degrading. Mu sunset is a postcard, but this is one I'd like to see back in a photobook on nature photography. This is a picture I would have loved to have taken myself. Did you chase them into your picture? ;-) Wonderful!! If I could give very-very-dark-green smileys I would have done so..

A classic view and yet a pleasant one to see it again and again, Irina. I'm so much attracted to this mountain that it has been my dream to hike up to see the ice and snow before the global warming takes it all. Possibly in 1-2 years. Have been up there? The different layers with the gnus in the fg, the trees and finally the clouds give a nice overlap to finally reach up to the top of Kilimandjaro. Very nice landscape photography.

Salut Irina,
Encore un paysage magnifique! Il parait d'ailleurs limite irréel tant le contraste est fort entre la savane du premier plan et le Kilimanjaro au second plan. Il défie la perspective, a flotter au dessus des nuages, paraissant a la fois si éloigné et si grand. Ta composition restitue parfaitement cette sensation d'immensité. Ca doit vraiment impressionnant a voir "en vrai" ;-) que du tout bon. bravo.

I am adding this picture into my fav list for:
1. My dream is to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and ikm half way through to it.
2. The colors are great
3. it gives the perfect view of the mountain along with forEsts and wild life.
4. Clouds give a mystical effect
Great picture and im keeping it as it'll keep motivating me to climb it atelats once
