Photographer's Note
This man have a very clever idea in my opinion. A grindstone mounted to the handlebar on his bike. He just have to park the bike on the rear stand, mount a strap and start to pedaling. 1-2-3 and you have a perfect grinder for knives, scissors etc. Afterwards he can ride his bike to the next customers, outskirts of Mombasa in this case.

Hej Boa,
Gert

Hello Boa,
I saw a similar "trick" in Nepal (unluckily, I could not manage to take a picture), but in that case the bike had been permanently trasformed into a grinder, losing its transporting capabilities.
The man in your picture obviously has more business and technical acumen!
A wonderful capture of daily life. Thanks for sharing :)

Hi Boa
A great way to capture a local daily life and managed to keep enough detail in it. Excellent street shot and I think you have achieved the goal. Clever ideas and functional modified machine and converted to profitable use and service to the community, this happens in many parts of Asian countries too. The important thing is that, this dual purpose machine serves the purpose effectively to suit the local context. Well done, TFS
Best regards

Hi Boa
very innovative for sure, clever man!
I have to say that i've really enjoyed viewing all of your African scenes - as you've said you love going to the non-touristy areas.
its fun to look at the signs, the architecture (or the lack of architecture).
funny to see the rubber tires on top of the roof! cool and cultural all at the same time :)
cheers
craig
