Follow the Orange Sand Road Photo

Photographer’s Note

The earth at Voi was so amazingly orange. It was quite surprising and odd. The roads in Tsavo East safari reservation were orange with the sand.

Picture taken looking back from the safari vehicle. Both the Giraffe and the vehicles are 'following the orange sand road' ('following the yellow brick road'... *cough*).

Richard, this is beautiful.

Great burnt orange color even against the overcast day. I can only imagine the same shot against a brillant sunset.

Excellent. It takes me back there. If anything no photo can bring out the true colour as seen by the eye but this is very close.

Hi Richard,
Your picture makes me remember my trip to Tanzania a few years ago. I saw the same amazing orange color on the road that was going to the Ngorongoro caldera.
The giraffe walking on the side of the road is quite surprising. It does not seem to be that impressed by the car which is arriving behind it.

Nice composition, the bright colors with a dull sky makes this a perfect shot. That too with a giraffe walking along with the car, makes it beautiful.
