Elmina - the first European settlement in West Africa. A place where it is like time stands still. It's hard to say what year it is 1482? 1637? or 1872?
A tranquile place with lots of history. |

Hi Christiane
Interesting photo. But, what's a German flag doing there?
Elmina is the first European settlement in West Africa if you don't count the islands. The first city built by the Europeans (with slave labour of course) in the tropics it was Ribeira Grande (Cidade Velha) in Cape Verde.
Regards,
Francisco
Interesting and informative.

I was just in Elmina last week. It still looks the same.
Hi Chris
This one looks very goos from such perspective. Actually the boats are the most attractive part of the photo but the colour of the ground is also very interesting. Good job. Cheers!
