Carrying Harold

Our tour guide found a willing group of fishermen to take us on a harbor tour in Axim, Western Region of Ghana. The boat was fantastic--one of those rough hewn, usually blue, always sloganized combo of floating art and enterprize. While we were out, the tide went that way too so the boat could not get all the way into shore. The men gave us a choice: roll up your pant legs, take off your shoes and walk OR be carried. Harold chose the latter but the look on his face doesn't show a lot of faith in the decision.
The photo was taken with a 35mm camera and digitized by the local Kodak developer. I ran it through Photoshop to do an auto levels, resized it to fit TrekEarth's requirements and uploaded it. The nude child to the left is part of real life in Ghana--no one noticed him and TrekEarth's policy is not intentionally violated. |

Interesting candid shot! A bigger format will be highly appreciated.
The picture is cool
