My last pic from the Gambia, taken by bus with children who greet and we often pursued in hopes of having some candy as a gift.My last tribute to a beautiful land, not rich of photographic opportunities as a city or other states, but with a really fantastic people.

Bravo et "hats off".

This is very charming post! The small kids look so cute here and I am sure it was very nice to see a good bye sign from them. Very well executed pic with superb sense of moment. Sharpness was managed perfectly. TFS.
Have a lovely day!

namaste, a nice daily life indeed. Something special in it which made it so catchy. The high POV works well. Nice to see the childrens with the rural path at background. Excellent shot. Tfs.

I think you couldn´t choose more appropriate picture for your last shot from Gambia.
This one is so expressive and meaningful. The kids running behind the bus and waving convey perfectly this specific kind of nostalgia when we leave our holiday destination.
Quality is of course superb, but I think in this case it´s not so important as the emotions it convey.
Have a nice sunday

I have enjoyed this series of shots from Gambia, a country I have never visited. The people seem full of life and are good ambassadors for tourism. Charming capture of this group of little boys hurrying to say goodbye.

Beautiful pic, meaningful symbolism.
ktanska (28168) 2013-06-30 3:02
Excellent high viewpoint. Good spirit of children is well visible. Dusty reddish landscape is so typical Africa.
ikeharel (73559) 2013-06-30 3:05
Obviously the bus raised much dust in the air, and the view of children running after is telling how dependant they are not to say too desperate. Tourists for them is a hope, maybe a source of needed income.
That's what I grasp from this lovely photo.
danos (99890) 2013-06-30 3:37
nice the snapshot from this advantage point with the little children to run and salute the leaving bus.I imagine your experience you have gained knowledge from this journey in Gambia.Excellent presentation as a good reportage shot from the country.
Have a good Sunday,Danos

some years ago my Portuguese uncle visited my town and poor children was ever persecuting him because he used to give sweets for them. in these last years they don't do this because brazil is a "rich country" haha.
excellent image, the life is here and the small tragedy of this moment too. in some aspects the happiness of children can be not proportional what they have and even they can be more happy than rich ones. the children portraited by palizzi lived in such conditions too.TFS.

The mood of your note is very well represented in your image that tells the story of a moment in the life these children. Good natural colors and an interesting angle of shot.

a glorious shot this, full of the innocence of youth and also a touch nostalgic. The characters here are so endearing and the image has a raw and evocative quality about it. Like the sense of movement and a really expressive shot. Well done!
Enjoy your Sunday - Brian.

Hello Luciano, the waves of the children to the departing people is very touching, despite the obviously harsh surroundings they give the picture a great charm.
Nicely timed and well presented.

A great scene with which to bid farewall to this land, and a great demonstration of the friendliness of the people. I love in particular the pose and smile of the little dude in the lower right corner, he looks like he could chase you for miles :)
Thanks for sharing your very special shots of this place.
All the best

Complimenti e grazie!
Tanti saluti e buona settimana,
Romano46 (18472) 2013-06-30 9:52

Ciao caro Luciano,
Oh, dear, this picture brought a tear to my eye!
A most endearing photograph of this little group of happy children chasing your 'bus! They might be begging for sweets or money, but here they appear to be waving you "Bye, bye" as though they are asking you to return to see them again some day.
A wonderful capture of these happy children caught in bright sunlight with perfect exposure and beautiful colours.

it is true. Every where are beautiful people. We are all human. This picture of saying bye, bye is emotional very touching. You express the feeling very well by this photograph. Perfectly well done. I like it a lot. Tfs. Luciano.

Angshu (56760) 2013-07-09 7:06
Nice picture you have taken with the joyful kids taken from your high POV. The scene has good a rustic flavour and the light, though strong is good.
Miguel82 (27646) 2013-07-10 14:42
Superb shot with feelings and nostalgia
The children are not happy that you leave that place
Superb presentation, light and pov
mcmtanyel (24581) 2013-07-10 19:27
This is a very fitting scene for a farewell photo. Excellent timing. You caught the cute little fellow (closest to the camera) right in the middle of a step, very precious!
PS. I could not figure out who submitted the workshop, so I can't reply to them directly. I will make my comment on the workshop here: The photo is distorted. The aspect ratio was changed not by cropping but by uneven scaling.
Urs (14082) 2013-07-11 5:04
It's action time, I love it, you really did not wait a second but you got them sharp and running. Superb POV and spot on settings. Well done
nikkitta (17066) 2013-07-13 16:25
A pity, no more interesting captures from Gambia and his people and animals
Photo well taken of a known subject , children asking for money or sweets
Like the more the contrast between them and the orange earth
Good way to say Good Bye at a country
kato (11630) 2013-07-13 19:29
You're capturing well this sentimental scene by a good comosition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the spectacle as a movie scene in which kids are telling "Good bye" to you taking and leaving in this place by bus. So, you show in here the atmosphere of this country in dried ground and cute kids. And, the shadow projected to the ground draws out a good effect in this image.
ciakgiak (30431) 2013-07-16 9:04
semplicemente favolosa, ed anche molto emozionante... bravo!
adores (45891) 2013-07-16 14:04
It must be a fantastic experience for them to see tourists arriving. Here you captured a very good moment, with a very simple background, but full of emotion. I like the little one running to you, surrounded by dust, while the others stay in background, saying goodbye.
frunchy (1800) 2013-08-11 5:15
i love to be taken to far away destinations!
This is a really nice goodbye Picture as it Shows so much Beauty in this barren land!
