Another shot taken in the same Fula village, not far from the border with Senegal. We spent the night in a tent near this village and we spent the evening with them. In the morning all the children came to say good bye. They always ask for the empty bottles because they reuse it for so many different purposes.
This little girl was part of the group - even living in a remote village of Gambia, she was wearing a dress with the famous Pucca. The big tree on the right is a baobab, very common in Senegal, Gambia and other African countries.
The Fulas or Peuls, are one of the largest migratory ethnic groups in the world and they are spread over many African countries, such as Senegal. It was a great experience to visit many of their villages and contact with them, as they are really nice and usually welcome visitors really well.

I envy you this remarkable experience of having such happy and close contact with the local people. This little girl is delightful in her red dress, acting quite naturally, with no attention to your camera.
The inclusion of the baobab tree is important for depth and for its textural contribution.
My warm regards,

Love this environmental portrait. I confess Pucca passed me by (I know baobab trees!), but the little girl's pose is priceless. The pigeon toes, odd angle of the bottles and slightly deranged expression all speak of uninhibited childhood. And we can see where she lives!

lovely portrait photo!
Love the way you framed the scene with the part of the Baobab on the right, but also the timing you chose(the pose and facial expression of this girl is one of a kind).Fine composition with magnificent, vivid colors and outstanding quality of the image.
Have a nice day

lovely portrait if this little girl. I have a daughter but she is much younger. It is so hard to photograph her. The girl here seems to have no objections. She is so pretty. Interesting story with the empty bottles. Kind of sad as well. It teaches me to appreciate more what I have.

Something about this I really like... I can't quite say what. Very well captured, makes me imagine the ambient of that place, a very good travel image. as the blinding red dress grabs the yes firmly there. Fantastic shot, well done.

Beuatiful photo of the little girl, love her bright and oclorful outfit. Yes, the Japanese cartoon charactors are all over the world. A good combination of portrait and daily life and landscape.

This is a lovely photo. I like the appearance of the baobab wrapping around the girl in the colorful dress. An adorable photo with great colors and wonderful DOF.
PS. The temperatures around here are playing yo-yo. One week in subzero degrees (Fahrenheit), another week in the 50s (>15 Celsius) and subfreezing again.

A nice environmental portrait of the sweet girl in a colourful red dress..The baobab tree is not fully visible, but creates a good frame.
