Photographer's Note

I've noticed there are almost no photos of the Eastern part of Gambia here, on TE. So, I'm posting a photo of Wassu, one of four sites that form the "Stone Circles of Senegâmbia", which are a World Heritage. These sites (two situated in Senegal and two in Gambia), are situated between the River Senegal and the River Gambia and they form one of the most incredible concentrations of stone circles. Only here, where I took this photo, there are 11. They can have different characteristics and they reflect a very sophisticated society.
