Photographer’s Note
Dallol
At the time of our visit of Dallol, with the blue lake and its yellow fountains , that I showed you a few times ago, we found by traversing the neighbourhoods, small ponds filled with a brownish liquid. These ponds have the less eroded sides of the ground, which makes it possible to see the structure of the ground. For some, there are these posts which seem to support the ground that us fullers. These posts make from 20 to 40 cm in height. It is like stalagmites and stalactites which would have met after having grown too much. They formed at their joints, a ball. It is really spectacular to see.

Hi Jacques,
Quite an amazing shot. Nature is the most remarkable thing to witness.
The colour of these formations suggest some type of mineral in the water.
Good shot, very informative note.

Jacques, very interesting image and note. Would be interested to see closer view. I'd agree with Phwall that minerals in the water have caused these formations, there also appear to be crystal structures under the surface. thanks for posting
regards, Martin

Bonjour Jacques,

Philippe

Hi Jacques.
Jumping inside TE I found some of your beautiful pictures. This one is really impressive. The stala's look like brown sugar columns.
I also appreciate very much the shots dedicated to vulcanos and panoramas. I included a link to your website in My Website. Hope you appreciate.
Ciao
