Photographer’s Note

Il faut faire quelque chose de plus."

Did you return dissatisfied? Maybe you should have stayed. . .
A strong, slightly enigmantic portrait.
Good connection between you and your subject.
Possibly needs a touch more contrast.
Best, -Hugh
I use that same lens. It's a good one.

Hi Luca
A beautiful potrait. Interesting effect with the umbrella(?) leaving just a glimpse of the background.

There is something an extraordinary classical in this work…
Starting from the noble pose of the black dame all the way to the background created by the black umbrella to the gentle third layer of a wonderful bokeh in the far back…
There are almost unseen portraits of this magnitude these days…
The word 'elegant' comes to my mind at the first glimpse at this charmer…
'Vogue' used to present its ladies in such a style…
The colors, the immaculate finishing, and the choice of a proper lens for your photo… Everything worked out just as beautifully as it can be…
You managed to avoid the 'flatness' of the face by using the proper lens…
The face in there has that precious depth, the third dimension, so desirable in photographing human faces.
That valuable feature ( the 'third' dimension) disappears quickly when you use the loooong lens.
The excellent framing rounded up this outstanding photograph worth of every praise…
I can't deny that he beauty of the woman contributed a bit to its final presentation…
Uff… I had no idea starting this critique that it will take so many words to express my opinion fully upon the subject, but… What the heck…
Such a portraiture happens only once in a while…
With respect
george

Hi Luca,
A lovely woman, very beautiful, but also with a mysterious look. Looks to me she is very young, but she also has already a strong an mature facial aexpression.
A great portrait, as useal from your hand.

Hi Luca. Beautiful work. What I love are the tiny highlights of colour: the red stone on her neck picking up the light, the white beads, the gold trim on her hat. These little things add more spark to an already captivating portrait. E una bellezza.Ciao. Klaudio.

This is an excellent portrait, Luca. In some of your portraits I find the DOF a bit too shallow, but in this one it is perfect. I like also how you have successfully broken the 'rule' of having the subject looking into the frame. Here you have positioned her on the right instead of the left, and it works well because of the slight backward glance and the inclusion of the OOF head-dress in the background. Excellent work (and superb light management). Cheers . . . David
