Photographer’s Note

We saw this landscape on the road back from Harar to Adis Abeba so I had to stop the car to enjoy this beautiful landscape. Much of Ethiopia's landscape is like this: Rich, rich green, England or Ireland type of green, as a result of abundant rainfall.

80% of the workforce is employed by agriculture yet only 4% of cultivated land is irrigated. Just imagine the wasted potential!!!

Oh, now that's a great landscape shot, Daniel!
Composition is just excellent - the twisting road is just best here, taking us deeper into the depth of the picture. The tree on the right side serves as an additional dimension, a subject and part of the perspective. The hill at the BG is along the main road and spotted almost immediately following the dirt road. Excellent!
Thanks for sharing this great landscape of Ethiopia - your photos do justice to this amazing country!

Hello Daniel! Very nice composition with the road and tree well positioned. I think the shot is a little dark and with the nice even lighting you had, the greens could be more vibrant but I think the workshop addressed that.

Nos muestras una interesante imagen, por su belleza y su composición, los colores destacan entre sí de una forma perfecta, verde-marrón y el cielo que crea un contraste diferente, el camino serpenteante y el árbol son los puntos principales de interés de la escena, quizás la noto un poco baja de enfoque, pero nada que no se pueda solucionar, buen trabajo.

Nice to see something of Ethiopia at TE. The news that we get in the media do not portrait such a beautiful landscape as you have gotten here. The composition of the winding road and that solitaire tree is great. Although the light in the WS looks better I'm not sure if it reflects the true green colors of the landscape. Does it?

C'est la route sineuse en terre ocre qui me plaît bien et qui donne la profondeur ! L'arbre du premier plan est chouette. J'aurai peut-être davantage coupé au niveau du ciel pour mettre en valeur le paysage.

Nice landscape with thiese rich tones in green tones. I like zig-zagging road that goes thru it with the lonely tree watching.
I like the low POV showing nice details. About your note it's sad that this happens on a country that is so known by it's poverty and hungry persons, but I think this is not Ethiopia's problem alone, this is a genral problem of African countries as they are so rich on natural resources but they don't use them for the best purposes, or maybe (and I don't want to extend more than this) someone is not interested on their evolution...

Instead of my vision of dusty, parched desert like hills, you present this stunning verdant landscape and hence educate my senses...The road curves a sinuous path and the eye follows eargerly into the frame. The character tree nicely balances and enhances. The lighting and shadow effects are superb. Great work, Daniel...later.
