Photographer’s Note
Debarak is described by guidebooks as a non-descript town of 20,000 people of interest as a base to organize trips to the Simien Mountains.
I found it to be quite an interesting town, particularly around the market square which boasts quite a nice mosque (here at right)and some very interesting bars.
People are a bit more annoying than usual in their begging, but overall I thing an afternoon walking in town is a worthwhile experience.

Hello, Daniel--
i like the composition of this piece, but the focus seems a little bit too deep for me--i think that i would like it more if the foreground people were in focus with the background buildings a little bit soft rather than soft people with sharper buildings.
It's a nice shot, but i know that you're capable of better.
Thanks!

on the contrary i rather like the way the foreground is out of focus, it adds depth to the picture. the title of the picture is about the town too, which you feel is the main focal point of this picture.

Now this is an interesting shot! Technically it's not the greatest, because the light is not good, but I like the realism. Also, the contrast between the pure white of the robes and the surroundings is incredible. Well done!

Hi Daniel, i like that underrated shot.
the beautiful perspectvie, before down, then up on the hill is really beautiful, as the women walking to you.
all the rest is well captured, specially the desolation of that city.
thanks, ciao

Very interesting to see something of this country at TE. I like your involvement of the human element here. The light might be a little bit scarce and giving the impression of underexposed, but that could be very well the foggy weather.

Hi Daniel, it may not be technically perfect (a little camera shake maybe?) but this is perhaps my favourite of your very interesting -and sometimes challenging - portfolio of Ethiopia. You have portrayed perfectly the difficult conditions which these people are forced to endure. And isn't there an irony that, even here, Coca Cola stamps its presence on the landscape in its delicate shade of corporate red? The fragile, pastel colours are superb. Stephen
