THis is the inside of the Bet Emanuel rock hewn church in Lalibella. The man at the right is a priest the kids seemed to be there to pray and listen to the Priest, maybe its cathecism.

J'aime bien ces différents personnages placés sur différents plans et cette lumière qui vient du fond.

Dommage pour la netteté un peu flousaillante, sinon très belles couleurs et lumière à tomber.. c'est là qu'on regrette de ne pas avoir un objo IS... il aurait fallu rechercher un moyen de monter la vitesse d'obturation au moins à 1/30 ou 1/60, dans ce cas, peut être vaut-il mieux une sous-expo RAW et du grain qui monte en post process...

I think I said something similar in a previous critique but there is a strong sense of Biblical times about many of your photos from here. As this was taken in a church that is probably appropriate. I love the natural light on the child by the door and the way the darkness encroaches on the right. I assume you hand-held this? At 1/15th second that is admirable.

i think this would have been such a great image if only a deeper dof were applied; unsharp face of the man is a sort of a miss here;

Muy bella imagen, muy "interior" (buen título), porque da la impresión de que consigue capturar también el interior de la vida de esta comunidad... luces y sombras muy bellas, reflejo de la vida misma y la mirada peculiar, tanto del sacerdote como del niño, que nos interpela. absolument magnifique. C'est le genre de lumière dont je rêverais pour une photo d'intérieur. J'ai lu la critique de Luko. Elle est juste mais en meme temps, je pense que as tiré le maximum du matériel que tu avais.

Je vois bien que la netteté n'est pas au top, mais je ne retiens pas ce petit défaut pour cette photo. Car la scène prise est admirablement composée, on dirait un tableau de Georges de la Tour. Une lumière complexe à maîtriser mais très séduisante. Vraiment BRAVO !
Un grand moment de photo saisi.

Salut Daniel,

Tu as là une magnifique scène avec cette lumière du jour qui pénétre dans ce lieu avec tous ces détails intérieurs.

A mon humble avis, c'est tellement beau que
t'as été trop gourmand en voulant tout avoir ,o) dans les ombres ... et je pense que tu as raison ... Sans doute l'expo a été faite ou influencée par les ombres, ce qui explique probablement le 1/15s et les hautes lumières brulées (ce n'est pas trop gênant néanmoins sauf pour la partie du châle qui se confond avec une des marches)
C'est vrai qu'une sous-expo ou une expo sur les lumières (tu gagnes qqs 10è pour la netteté) et avec un raw, tu peux récupérer du détails perdu à la prise de vue.

Bon si tu as le raw, pareil, je veux bien essayer ;o).

Trés belle scène, presque picturale...
vu les conditions, le résultat me parait pas mauvais du tout, tu aurais peut être pu essayer 1600 Iso pour monter la vitesse.

C'est plutôt intimiste...
Je pense que tu étais en mesure matrcielle ici, une mesure spot t'aurais permis de mieux gérer l'expo et d'avoir une vitesse plus élevée.
La scène reste belle, a+

Une autre photo reportage magnifique Daniel, tu devrais faire une expo en france, je ne sais pas ce qui fait le petit plus dans tes photos, mais tu me touche vraiment par tes photos. La lumiere, le cadrage, l'expression des personnes...

The exposure level seems just right here, as had you increased the level you would have caused slight overexposure in the foreground. The tight cropping enhances. Well captured, Daniel.

It is nice to be back again and this shot immediately caught my attention. It is beautifully composed with all the elements arranged in a very pleasing and interesting manner. I like how the heads formed an nice curve and leading us to the point of focus in an easy going manner. The dark wooden board broke the flow to create an interesting break and enhanced the position and importance of the lady. A very well thought of shot. Congratulations!! Regards.

Hi Daniel, This is such a beautiful scene and it has a somehow biblical feel to it. The colours are outstanding (although the turquoise blue flashes a touch too much perhaps). The haunting look of the priest is worth gold. An absolutely excellent work! Sabine

Hi Daniel, Sorry to have missed out (was away to Beijing, just back after the religious festivals in my country) your posts from the Ethiopia series... almost all of your posts are gems, unique with ethnicity and characteristic hues.
Love this particular one, the thumnail suggests a classic medieval painting, while the large version rekindles the beauty/innocence of the kid's face.
