On the road to Key Afar ...
Hamer people(Hammere) live in in southwestern Ethiopia, in Hamer Bena district - a part of the Omo River valley. The tribe number about 50.000 people, mainly pastoralists; they cultivate sorghum, vegetables and cotton, also they rear cows, sheeps and goats.
They are known because of body decoration: women use a special clay mixed with ochre which they put on their hair, they wear many iron coils around arms and bead necklaces.
