Photographer’s Note

This are the splendid 15th century frescoes in the interior of the rock hewn church of Abuna Yemata Guh, near Megab.
In the middle of the roof you can see the painting of the twelve apostles.
I spent some time here appreciating the magic atmosphere of a well hidden place.

A nice scene, and very well done, with a beautifull light accent on the dome in the centre, nevertheless giving still much detail in the area around.

Hello Luca,

I'm normally not a big fan of photographs of fresco's or paintings. I mean, it then has to be more than a photograph of what someone has painted. But in this case, I really like it. Mostly because this is a place where I would not end up quickly. Seems to be rather off the beaten track and that makes it very interesting.

Really an impressive picture of this fresco. It is amazing and also a bit strange because we're used to European frescos... but this one looks amazing.

oltre che per la bellezza del dipinto, questa foto mi piace moltissimo perchè ci mostra un affresco dipinto su una superficie irregolare, mentre siamo abituati a vederli sempre su volte e/o superficie lisce e regolari.
